Photo Shoot Flowers – Friday Flowers

Feast your eyes on these gorgeous fresh country-look flowers. All of these pretty stems, I bought at my local florist. I have literally just plonked them in a jug, inside a crate on the floor, all because they are ready to be taken on an interiors photo shoot that I’m styling. I just could to resist letting them leave my house without taking a quick snap of them.

Set for tea time – Friday Flowers

The beauty of flowers is that they look pretty in just about any vessel. Here I used my espresso cups as vases to hold little flowers for a small tea party gathering I hosted at home. Nothing fancy I can assure you, however my little blooms in the small cups, did steal the show.

I hope this easy idea inspire you to create something similar, using what you have at home and very few flowers indeed. The espresso cups are from a very old Cath Kidston range, probably classified as “vintage Cath Kidston” by now. The lovely pale blue plates is part of a range called Asiatic Pheasants by Burleigh, a reproduction form the original antique range with the same name. The pretty embroidered napkins in pale blue and mint and also a vintage charity shop find and the soften the look.

A Colourful Lineup – Friday Flowers

This week was a rather busy week and I felt like I need a little pick-me-up from my ‘Friday Flowers’, so I decided to make use of the brightest spring blooms and create a line of colour to decorate my very thin mantelpiece. I used cute bud vases in an array of colours and fill them with stems of lime green Viburnum, violet Anemone and purple Muscari. The vases, as much as the flowers, are part of this show. A colourful lineup to cheer up the day.

Easy Easter Flowers – Friday Flowers

Easter is my favourite holiday because it is bright, colourful, sometimes sunny and it includes chocolate, lots of chocolate. It has always been a time for easy get-togethers, a BBQ, a picnic or a pub lunch in the sun. For us it definitely includes long dog walks, ending up with sampling a local cider along the way.  This weekend I’m having friends around for a “braai” (Afrikaans for BBQ) and to pretty up the house, I made this cute flower display.

During this time of year my numerous cake stands comes to use, very frequently. This gorgeous white Sophie Conran cake stand, doubles up as a platform for my flowers and Easter eggs. I have used egg cups, also form Sophie Conran, as mini vases to hold my little blooms. Add a few foil wrapped eggs for an Easter feel. I will use this Easter display as a table centre, but I think it will look just as pretty as a ‘welcome’ in the hall.

The flowers I have used are; purple-blue muscari, vibrant lime viburnum, violet anemones and sky blue forget-me-nots. The cute egg cups with the stripes and birdie motive is from What A Lovely Shop. A colourful feast for the eyes, Happy Easter, everyone!
