Easter Flowers & Chocolates

Easter is my favourite time of year. The abundance of chocolate and colourful flowers might have something to do with it.

Get creative with spring flowers and bulbs and plant a flower arrangement for the Easter weekend. Below is just such an arrangement I made using a wide mouthed urn. The cut flowers are drinking from water filled jars that’s hidden by moss and planted primulas. I added bulb plants like hyacinths for fragrances and that spring feeling. Blossom branches adds texture and a bit of drama. If you don’t have an urn, a shallow bowl or tray will work too.

After playing around with this flower garden, I think it’s ok to over indulge in some Easter chocolate. I could not resist adding the very new Gin & Elderflower tipple into the mix.

Easter chocolate are not just for kids, right? See my selection of the best Easter chocolates with the grown-up’s in mind:

Happy Weekend – Friday Flowers

pink & lilac tulips in vintage green Dee Cee urn vase posse bowl

I love these vintage urn vases and already have 4 of them in green (not mentioning the white ones…) They look great without anything in them but when spring and summer comes, I can’t resist filling them with seasonal blooms. Pink & lilac tulips together with pale pink hyacinths look so cute in this vintage green Dee Cee stoneware posy bowl vase.

Spring in a Tin – Friday Flowers

Vases can be anything in your home from jugs to tea cups (see last weeks post). Here I’ve used a set of cute storage tins that I bought years ago from Cath Kidston. To be safe, I did put a small glass in each tin to ensure no leakages. I love how the colourful blooms brighten up my dresser and puts a fresh spin on this hard-working furniture piece of mine.

Happy Easter – Friday Flowers

Nothing says “Happy Easter” like a fresh bunch of scented spring blooms. Today we love the simplicity of the pale pink and lilac tulips and the sweet scented hyacinths, all simply bunched together in a Sophie Conran jug. Add just a small touch of Easter with small themed gift tags.
