Heads-up On Getting A Head.

Turn heads with these quirky ceramic wall mounted animal head vases. The ceramic heads are hand painted and made form a heavy glaze, each with unique features. Fill them with flowers, herbs, pencils (for the office) or utensils (for the kitchen). Display then grouped together as a herd or line them up in the hallway. However you decide to show them off, be sure of one thing, they will certainly grab the attention of your guests.

Blooming Marvellous – Friday Flowers

As the week is drawing to a close and so is The Chelsea Flower Show, (arguably the most prestigious horticultural show in the world), it would be scandalous not to show you the marvellous flowers that was out on display in the Grand Pavillion. Feast your eyes on these beauties,  I had a tough job editing my photos, not to bore or overload you in the process. Here are some of the thousands of blooms out on display.

I can safely report, there is not a single blemish on any petals or leaves, truly remarkable. I Hope this has provided inspiration for us all to grow more lovely cut flowers to adorn our gardens and living spaces. In my eyes flowers are natures little pick-me-up tonics for us all to enjoy.

Easy Easter Flowers – Friday Flowers

Easter is my favourite holiday because it is bright, colourful, sometimes sunny and it includes chocolate, lots of chocolate. It has always been a time for easy get-togethers, a BBQ, a picnic or a pub lunch in the sun. For us it definitely includes long dog walks, ending up with sampling a local cider along the way.  This weekend I’m having friends around for a “braai” (Afrikaans for BBQ) and to pretty up the house, I made this cute flower display.

During this time of year my numerous cake stands comes to use, very frequently. This gorgeous white Sophie Conran cake stand, doubles up as a platform for my flowers and Easter eggs. I have used egg cups, also form Sophie Conran, as mini vases to hold my little blooms. Add a few foil wrapped eggs for an Easter feel. I will use this Easter display as a table centre, but I think it will look just as pretty as a ‘welcome’ in the hall.

The flowers I have used are; purple-blue muscari, vibrant lime viburnum, violet anemones and sky blue forget-me-nots. The cute egg cups with the stripes and birdie motive is from What A Lovely Shop. A colourful feast for the eyes, Happy Easter, everyone!
