Autumn Colour Palette

Autumn has arrived and with it, a new colour palette to inspire you. This season there are mainly two colour schemes to be leading the trends, below are the two schemes that have emerged this autumn.

The first one is slightly cooler with navy, charcoal and greys being the base colours. These cool hues gets warmed up by the additions of  copper and a hint of berry, perfect colours to use as highlights to your room scheme and ideal to keep in mind for accessories.

The second colour palate is a bit more of what you’d expect this time of year. Burnt oranges melting together with chocolate browns, metals like copper and brass brings a bit of shine, while lighter shades like nudes and mink brightens the whole look.

Desk Inspiration – Friday Flowers

I am looking at the most beautiful picture on my desk right now, not one of a fabulous home or a gorgeous interior, but I am looking at a small bunch of peonies that brightens my workspace and creating the prettiest picture around. The reason they look so striking is because they are housed in the most adorable and unique vase I own. This cutie was a gift from my good friend Emma, she knows my taste so well and as she bought it from Anthopologie, it is safe to say that she could hardly go wrong.

Yesterday I did a little detour past Anthopologie just to look at this collection of flower vases again. I have eyed them up on so many occasions previously, every time unable to decide what my favourite is. Now I think it is time I start my little collection before they sell out. Just look at the collection, impossible to choose just one. Here is a shot of them in store.

Muscari in Ruan Hoffmann vase – Friday Flowers

This gorgeous Jardin Des Plantes Vase by Ruan Hoffmann was given to me as a gift, already planted up with a hyacinth. So when it finished blooming, I looked for another flowering bulb to plant inside. I found these cute white grape hyacinths, Muscari, as they are also known.

The Jardin Des Plantes Vase by South African ceramic artist, Ruan Hoffmann, is part of a fabulous collection in a new collaboration with Anthropologie. This range reminds me a bit of Dutch Delftware, a wonderful new take on an age old traditional design.

I also planted some of the leftover bulbs in an antique silver creamer. I like the reflections in the gold of the vase and the tainted silver of the creamer jug.
