I’ve always loved every collection that Toast have produced and this new SS14 is no exception.True to their roots with an earthy colour palate and injections of cobalt blue, ochre yellow and burnt orange, this latest range yet again inspires me. Together with their absolute stunning photography, often shot in exotic locations around the world, it’s enough to give anybody a serious case of ‘life envy’. You just simply want to live inside a Toast brochure and experience the Toast lifestyle to the fullest.
To store: Upon seeing these Tin Trunks at the show, I nearly burst into simultaneous tears and laughter because I was instantly taken back to being in high school in South Africa. My mom used to pack our snacks and treats for the term in these, sending us off 100’s of kilometres away to boarding school. Now I would love to have them back. We had an orange and a yellow one we shared.
For the living room. Soft Baltic Herringbone linen cushions with bone button details in the most beautiful colours. They are so stylish and understated a classic addition you will love for a long time.
Occasional piece. I love these Smithy stools, for some reason I’m always drawn to a side table or stool type furniture pieces. This mango wood and coloured wrought iron is a handmade piece and comes in fab colours. I would say, choose a contrasting colour to your existing interior theme so that this little star can really shine.
The Hira embroidered bedspread and the Chindi floor cushion are both handmade in India. The cushion is made from recycled pieces of material. The Khadi Jude rug is also woven from coloured fabric strips and jute. A wonderful collection of special and unique pieces, each with a history to tell.
